What is an orthosis?

An orthosis is a form of support (e.g., a brace or splint) that helps correct a deficiency in a limb or improve its physiological functioning. Many people suffer from chronic pain or must deal with pain that has a very negative effect on their quality of life. When this kind of pain is experienced on a daily basis it can seriously affect your mood, undermine your daily routine and, in the long term, have negative repercussions that are even more serious.

Why should you put up with this pain when you could help alleviate it by consulting your physician? The human body has physical limits, and pain that remains untreated for too long can lead to irreversible damage to your health. Avoid future complications by dealing with slight physical deformities in time.

There are many different kinds of orthoses, designed for your lifestyle and your specific needs. Ask your physician for information, or send your questions to us.

Importance of Regular Upkeep:

To ensure that your orthoses are in good condition and giving you maximum support, we strongly recommend an annual check-up. The orthotist will carefully examine the state of your orthoses, and, if necessary, will make adjustments and may even replace them if they are too worn.
